Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course

Initial provider Course and Renewal Course Available!!

The AHA’s PALS Provider Course is to provide the healthcare professional the information and skills needed to treat critically ill infants and children to improve outcomes. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%.

All classes are taught in a stress-free environment, with hands on training and open discussions about training scenarios.

AHA certification cards are issued on successful completion of the course via email and valid for 2 years.

After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
● Perform high‐quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) per American Heart Association (AHA) basic life support (BLS) recommendations
● Differentiate between patients who do and do not require immediate intervention
● Recognize cardiopulmonary arrest early and begin CPR within 10 seconds
● Apply team dynamics
● Differentiate between respiratory distress and failure
● Perform early interventions for respiratory distress and failure
● Differentiate between compensated and decompensated (hypotensive) shock
● Perform early interventions for the treatment of shock
● Differentiate between unstable and stable patients with arrhythmias
● Describe clinical characteristics of instability in patients with arrhythmias
● Implement post–cardiac arrest management

This course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.

Class is approximately 6-8 hours

AHA Professional Instructor!

The online self-assessment is a mandatory AHA component of this course. The AHA requires a minimum score of 70%. The certificate of completion must be brought to class, along with the percentage score sheet.

FAQS

● How do I prepare for the PALS course?
Great question! Pre planning should begin once you sign up for the course. A wise first step is to order the students manuals (purchase through Lifesaver Training). Begin to refresh your skills on Electrocardiograms. Go through one or two algorithms per day and have a general concept of the information. Algorithms like Bradycardia, Tachycardia, Cardiac Arrest, Post Cardiac Arrest Care.

●Who teaches the classes?
All classes are taught by American Heart Instructors, who have been teaching for more than 6 years, and are also current members as healthcare providers in their respected fields for more than 10 years.

● When do I need to renew my certificate?
The American Heart recommends to renew your certificates every 2 years, to renew your proficiency and skills.

● Where are you located?
Lifesaver Training takes the courses to your front door. We can go to the comfort of your home or office and complete all training requirements.

● When do I receive my cards?
Your cards can be emailed to you on the same day as the training.

● Do you wear a mask in the trainings?
I leave it up to the home owners or the businesses, if you are more comfortable with masks, then yes, absolutely.

● Do you offer renewal classes?
Yes, initial provider classes and renewal classes are offered.
