When I met Yani I had recently arrived from Venezuela and my boyfriend had suddenly ended our relationship. I was still living in his house with my son. I was confused, frustrated, and depressed. I could not understand how things had crumbled so fast. I was in the middle of an immigration process, looking for a job, single, and practically homeless. My ex had given me days to leave his house.
