E2 Visa
The E2 is a non-immigrant visa for investors seeking to own and operate their own US-based business.
This particular kind of visa is limited to investors with certain nationalities such as Mexico, Canada, Colombia, Argentina, Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Japan, and others (see full list below).
Benefits
Spouse is eligible to receive a full work permit
Children can attend public school at no charge up to high school
This visa can be renewed without limitation
Some part of E2 capital can be borrowed (as long as the E2 asset is not used to secure repayment of the debt).
E2 visa does not usually lead to permanent residency but can in certain cases if the investment amount is increased over time or if spouse qualifies separately for permanent residency.
