Two years ago CFC began working with Chicago’s North Lawndale Community.
When the Coronavirus came we could no longer enter the community. Things came to a standstill.
However, it gave us the opportunity to benefit the community in ways we had never thought of. We developed CFC4Food. It is extremely successful with our nonprofit partners and their families.
Each week one of our 7 nonprofit partners selects 10 of their families that have the greatest need.
The Costco warehouse in North Riverside pulls full cartons of 25 different items from their shelves and puts them on skids. The quantities for each item are based on family size.
Our CFC partners pick the skids up at Costco and bring them to their facility for sorting by family. In the last three months, we have sent over 2000 meal items to 140 families in the community. CFC pays Costco.
There have been immediate positive responses from the families and nonprofits.

Would you like to become a CFC Advocate?
A CFC Advocate is anyone, anywhere in the country, that would like to help families and individuals in the North Lawndale Community.
During the coronavirus, all relationships will be on the phone.
After the coronavirus, the relation could continue with direct contact if practical.
CBO mentors-our other nonprofit (advocates) have stated:
“This is one of the best things I have ever done”.
“So much more meaningful than a donation or donating clothing”
Those interested, based on their personal experienced (yes having kids is one), can add their name and a brief bio under one of the categories shown below.
Click on one of the subjects below to understand what the opportunities are.
Physical Health
Mental Health
Relationships (mentoring)
Counseling
English language help
Tutoring (by age groups)
And more
Our CFC nonprofit partners will review the bio’s posted to determine if establishing a phone relationship with one of their families, or family members would be a win/win.
They would then contact you with information about the family. Yes, some members of the family could be incarcerated. Our goal is to bring our country together, one city at a time.

Why CFC chose North Lawndale as its first community
CFC CFC wanted to be able to measure its impact on one community.
